The case of Alexis Gabe, a 24-year-old Filipina-American pharmacy technician from Oakley, California, is a searing tragedy of lost innocence, domestic violence, and a heartbreaking failure of justice.

Alexis, described by her family as sweet, responsible, and devoted, was born in America to parents who were childhood friends and teachers from the Philippines.

After graduating as an EKG technician, she found happiness working in a pharmacy, earning the affection of customers and coworkers alike.

The First Love and the Sudden Silence

In 2019, Alexis met Marshall Curtis Jones (27), a hospital guard, who became her first love. Jones was quickly welcomed into the Gabe family.

However, the relationship ended in 2022. Despite the breakup, Alexis and Jones remained friends, occasionally spending time together.

On January 26, 2022, Alexis’s car data showed she arrived at Jones’s home on Trenton Street at 6:32 PM—the last confirmed location of the young woman.

That night, her father, Gwen, texted Alexis to ask if she was coming home for dinner. There was no reply.

Later that evening, around 9:30 PM, Alexis’s car and cellphone GPS were tracked leaving Jones’s location on an unusual route.

CCTV footage—later suppressed—captured a masked man, similar in height and build to Jones, driving Alexis’s car and subsequently abandoning it.

The following morning, Alexis’s mother, Rowena, realized her daughter had not returned. The family’s concern quickly escalated to panic.

The family soon found Alexis’s abandoned car, its key still in the ignition, and the driver’s side door slightly ajar. Police immediately found two shell casings inside the vehicle.

The Deception and the Black Bags

Jones was quickly interviewed, maintaining that Alexis had left his home at 9:00 PM to visit a best friend, a claim the friend quickly refuted, confirming Alexis knew she was out of town.

This clear lie immediately focused the investigation on Jones. Police later seized security footage showing Jones asking a neighbor about their CCTV system—his face reportedly relieved when he learned the camera did not cover his driveway.

The investigation uncovered a horrifying pattern: CCTV captured Jones parking outside his mother’s house, Alicia, and removing black plastic bags from his car, storing them at her house, retrieving them, and later disposing of them.

The desperate search continued for months. In November 2022, a devastating breakthrough was made: a resident using a metal detector found partial human remains, including an earring positively identified by the Gabe family.

The remains were later confirmed to belong to Alexis. Investigators believe Jones had dismembered her body and disposed of the pieces in various remote locations—a planned, premeditated act.

The Fight for Final Justice
